We offer the full range of Derwent colouring pencils, but even the most comprehensive set cannot compare to http://500pencils.socialdesigner.com. These pencil loving pioneers will lovingly send you 25 coloured pencils every month for 20 months, until you have quite possibly the most complete set of colours outside of the Dulux test factory. 2B or not 2B, you decide.

Baked Beans or Not…..?

The great water cooler debate in the office at the moment has nothing to do with Strictly or X Factor but whether or not Corned Beef Hash should contain baked beans .

So to settle it once and for all Tuesday will see the very first Cartridge Point corned beef  hash cook off. We’ll post the results after the taste test but in the meantime beans or no beans???? You let us know.

Gazza’s tears Finally Forgotten

gazzaFor grown men of a certain age Italy has a grip on our hearts. The country that made Gazza weep at the 1990 World Cup has finally been forgiven by us here at Cartridgepoint as we made our first sales there this week.

Jo meets Sydney

As promised, here is the first weekly installment of our very own Jo’s trip around the world. This weeks shot, with the backdrop of the glorious Sydney Harbour Bridge,  sees Jo holding off two imaginary walls, re-enacting the famous scene from Star Wars where Luke and Han Solo attempt to stop the walls of the garbage compactor from closing in on them. A valiant attempt and one that George Lucas would be proud of.  Come back next week to see Jo’s recreation of the infamous Full Monty finale perched atop Ayers rock.

Welcome back Jo

Customers are rejoicing all over the UK at the news that our Customer Services champion Jo Brierley has returned from her travels. She will be thrust straight back in to the hustle and bustle of a modern electronic business, yet things will be different this time. Six months on a beach doing absolutely  nothing can do that to a person, but we think it will work to our, and your advantage. Gone are the temper tantrums and strops, replaced with a relaxed and chilled out approach. She always got the job done, but now shes doing it with a smile on her face.

Having seen the Great barrier reef, the jungles and beaches of Thailand, and the paradise of the Cook Islands, she knows that the only view to wake up to every morning is the view of Halifax from our head offices (not that she sleeps at the office…although I did find a sleeping bag in the server room last year?).

Give her a call if you have any queries with your orders, or perhaps you just want to have a chat about her travels. We will be vetting her photos over the coming days in the vain hope that there are some we can show you. The  aim is to bring you a weekly inspirational photo from far flung destinations so keep checking back for the first installment

Its warm in London!

With my hankie on a stick and a smile on my face, I set off in the early hours of Tuesday morning, via steam locomotive to the city where streets are paved with gold, where dreams are made and banking careers are broken. With temperatures soaring to 30 degrees, I walked down Kensington High Street,  towards my destination (only because I missed my train!)

In search of the very latest in web technologies, I visited the Online Marketing Show 09 at London Olympia. Like a Northern rabbit between the headlights of a very large Norbert Dentressangle lorry, I gazed in wonder at the stands offering all kinds of magical “Search Engine Optimisation” and “BioMetric Customer Profiling”. The latter involves companies who actually monitor the path your eyes take when viewing a web page. Now this scared me, I dont want people watching my eyes with software designed by the CIA, and I dont think you do either. Rest assured if you visit our site, no-one will be monitoring what your eyes do (although I did think it could be an excellent tool for Specsavers.)

And why do people think its good to give you cheap pens that break after 3 words, why not just give you 20p or a straight answer to “how much will it cost me?”,  I would remember them much more for that.

Was it a worthwhile use of my time, who knows, but I’m sure I picked up enough to add to and further improve our site.
